NO!

Lara Stone is in the October Issue of French Vogue, and her spread is causing quite a stir. The theme of the spread is for Halloween, but people are not pleased with a white woman potraying a black woman and slapping "couture" on the pictures. What are your thoughts?
Some of the pieces she wears are Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors, Agent Provocateur, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton.

Rachel Roy: Fall

Here is her collection for the Pre-Fall. I'm really loving the sequins and the stripes. Even though her line is slightly casual for my taste, there is still an edginess to it that I love and I would so rock these looks. I also just saw the pictures for her Spring 2010 collection, and it's beautiful! Enjoy!

Busy..

Sorry all I have not been posting but I have been sooo busy with school and work. But it's fashion week so I got to give you something...there is definetly more to come!!

Maya A. Lake: Boxing Kitten

Maya's inspiration comes from Josephine Baker, W.E.B. Dubois, and her mother Marion Lake. She started desinging clothes at 10, and began sewing and making clothes for her family and friends at the age of 15. Her clothes mainly consisted of reworked t-shirts with bold prints but after attending Wesleyan University, there was where her line cultivated. She incorporated her style and African American history togethether to birth Boxing Kitten. Her clothes have been worn by Erykah Badu, Solange, Fergie and Christina Milian.

(Love this, above)

"If you take the patterns and very feminine silhouettes of women from the Civil Rights and then put those dresses in African inspired prints and fabric, then you have the Boxing Kitten woman." -Maya A. Lake
